muhammara

Muhammara is a roasted red pepper and walnut dip that originated in the Syrian City of Aleppo, and it gets its name from the Arabic word Hamara, meaning to redden. We served the dip at our Debut Dinner alongside other classics such as Baba Ganoush and Hummus, with fresh pitta. Of the three, Muhammara was the one most of our guests hadn't tried before. By the end of the evening, it had become a guest favourite, with several wanting the recipe, so here it is.
