  • 600 grams chicken thighs or breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or ghee
  • 2 items medium onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 400 grams canned chopped tomatoes or tomato purée
  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas (canned, rinsed and drained)
  • 1 items green bell pepper (capsicum), diced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder (or paprika for less heat)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1.5 cups Basmati rice
  • 0.25 tsp turmeric (for rice color)
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt or sour cream (for garnish)
  • 0.25 cup fresh coriander (cilantro), chopped
  • 2 items naan bread (store-bought or homemade)
