  • 250 grams tempeh, sliced into small batons
  • 150 grams green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 items shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 piece red chili, sliced (optional for heat)
  • 3 tbsp Kecap Manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (salty)
  • 1 tsp tamarind paste (optional, or lime juice)
  • 0.25 cups water
  • 2 cups cooked white rice (jasmine or sticky rice)
  • 0.25 cups fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 stalks green onions (scallions), sliced
