Hands down the best cake I’ve ever made. The topping would have been better if I did less caramel but fuck that.

- •3 whole medium oranges, washed and thinly sliced (seeds removed)
- •1 cup granulated sugar (for the caramel)
- •0.25 cup water
- •1 knob butter (approx. 2 tbsp, for the caramel)
- •0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
- •1 cup granulated sugar (for the cake)
- •2 large eggs
- •1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- •1.5 tsp baking powder
- •0.5 cup milk or yogurt
- •1 tsp vanilla extract
- •1 pinch salt
