  • 3 medium aubergines, sliced into rounds
  • 1 glug extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and sliced into rounds
  • 1 pack minced beef or lamb
  • 1 handful finely diced brown onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 knob salted butter
  • 2 fistfuls plain flour
  • 1 big splash whole milk
  • 1 handful grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 generous dusting dried breadcrumbs or cornmeal
  • 1 dollop Greek yogurt per person (for serving)
